Sárvár is preparing for a nightly dog show: a special experience for dog lovers!
The Hungarian Association of Dog Breeders (MEOESZ) is awaiting dog lovers with a unique event this year: they will organize their traditional aestival international dog show in Sárvár on July 17-18-19, which will be a nightly dog show for the first time!
For the first time in its history, MEOESZ is organizing a three-days-long, nightly dog show series. Judging will start at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, and the competition for the most beautiful dogs of the day may last until midnight. Over the three days, nearly 4,000 dogs will be judged by experts, where the most successful competitors can win titles such as Hungarian Junior Champion, Hungarian Champion and Hungarian Veteran Champion.
This year as well, Junior handlers, i.e. young handlers, will receive special attention. Renowned domestic and foreign experts will hold camps and training for them at the same time as the exhibition, where they can learn the theoretical and practical skills of the profession, get to know the dog breeds and try leading the dogs up.
The popularization of the nine Hungarian dog breeds is a priority this year as well. They would like to introduce these ancient Hungarian breeds to the public.
On Thursday between 7 pm and 10 pm, on Friday between 5 pm and 10 pm in the Vadkert Major’s area, and on Saturday between 10 am and 4 pm at the Nádasdy Festival, the Hungarian Dog Breeds Learning Trail awaits children, as the exhibition is also a co-event of the Nádasdy Festival this year.
Through several stations, children can get to know the breeds by solving playful tasks, and they will receive a dog breed information book as a gift. They can also meet the breeders and keepers of Hungarian dog breeds in person, receive authentic information about the history and characteristics of the breeds, and even pet the dogs.
The organizers are also thinking about hobby dogs’ and mixed breeds’ owners! On Friday, July 18th, from 7 p.m., they will organize a beauty contest for them. Owners of mixed breeds and purebred dogs without a pedigree can enter on site in the small, medium and large categories.
Don’t miss the nightly show of the most beautiful dogs in Europe! Visit Sárvár, Vadkert Major, on July 17-18-19.
